The new building rising on the former lot next door to the Apollo has been under wraps for the past year and now the tarp has been taken down. We are not a big fan of the grey brick trend thats happening these days but do agree that anything on that abandoned lot makes the classic theater look better. Grey is also a stark contrast to the light limestone of the Apollo so the plain modern building somewhat accentuates the adjacent old architecture. Not impressed with this architecture, reminds me of the Harlem Children’s Zone building a few blocks East of here.
