REMEMBER: THE RKO ALHAMBRA C. 1950
A photo by Gordon Parks provides a view of 7th Avenue and 126th Street as the corner appeared in the 1950s. The Alhambra Ballroom still stands today but apparently was a movie theater up until the middle of the last century. In the past few years, a bowling alley was established in the building but that venture has since shut down. Just last year, a rather large art supply emporium opened up at one of the basement spaces within the local landmark but the larger commercial venue on the top floors are still vacant: LINK

Great photo, if that building still had a marquee the recent establishments here might have been more successful in attracting foot traffic from 125th street.
