We have been searching around for somewhat affordable rents uptown within a decent block and this week's pick is on Upper Fifth Avenue just north of 129th Street. Number 2109 Fifth Avenue is a starter apartment for $1,300 a month which also includes utilities. This brownstone studio could be decorated nicely to make the interior a bit more updated but we do like the woodwork in the common areas. Upper Fifth still has that brownstone neighborhood charm and is easy walking distance to the express trains at Lenox and 125th Street. We kind of think that the glazed parquet tiles in the bath should have been on the floor and the white tile on the walls, but that is just our humble opinion:
