DWELL: HIGH DEMAND FOR ASTOR ROW
A partially renovated number 16 West 130th Street has a contract out after being on the market for under 3 weeks for the asking of $1.7 million. The landmark porch-front houses of Astor Row have a great lineage but only have been quickly attracting the attention of buyers in the past year or so. This particular townhouse appears to have been 70 percent complete as far as renovations go so the new owner would have to put in minimal effort to getting things into move-in condition. As the Harlem market matures, it appears that savvy buyers now know the neighborhood much better than in the past and are willing to make a strong bid for notable property such as Astor Row. A record $2.4 million sale closed earlier in the year: LINK
