REVIVE: 59 WEST 128TH STREET FRAME HOUSE
Most of the wood frame houses in Harlem are in poor condition and Number 59 West 128th Street is a good example of the lack of vision uptown when if comes to restoration. This home was up for sale about 3 years back for $350K but it appears nothing has been done to the property since then. Does anyone know what happened to this townhouse sale and why it was pulled off the market a few years back? We admire those who go the full restoration route and one of Harlem's oldest homes is a good example of what these unique building can look like at the end: LINK

I did the Harlem Garden Walk a few weeks ago and the people in the garden next door say they have been trying to deal with this place for years. The owner is some corp based in New Jersey, and has been very unresponsive to any communication by the garden. Since the garden is just a bunch of the block residence they do not have any funding to proceed legally because of the costs involved. So if your really interested in the place talk to the people with the garden next door.
