The above photo of the former Lenox Lounge was just taken a couple of days ago and we looked inside to see if there was any progress at hand. Bespoke readers might recall that a notable downtown restauranteur
picked up on the lease 2 years ago but the disgruntled former lessee
destroyed the facade and interior upon departure. A new version of the lounge had been planned since then but between law suits and required permits, it appears that nothing is really moving along. DOB paperwork is still pending from 5 months ago to have new concrete floors poured and a buildout in the back but the approvals have not been made yet by the city. In the meantime, the space pretty much still looks like this:
