QUESTION: HOW CAN I IMPROVE MY BLOCK?

We often get messages from new residents on how they can improve the quality of life in their immediate neighborhood.  Small issues from planting trees or encouraging dog owners to pick up after their pets are examples of some of the inquiries and we always encourage folks to join a local block organization which will be able to come up with solutions collectively or even go to the community board for a bigger problem.  Many of the local block associations will post flyers on the streets to indicate meeting times which is also a good way to get new neighbors on board.  If your block does not have a local group, than taking the initiative to get one together might also be a good idea.
