BESPOKE: SUMMER GARDENS ON SUGAR HILL
Uptowners really enjoy creating green space and a we noticed that the flowers were in bloom on Sugar Hill this past weekend. Roses seem to be the favorite pick for brownstone front yards but a patch of pink coneflowers caught our eye on St. Nicholas Avenue by 146th Street. A neighbor nearby decided for more privacy with an effective but beautiful wall of shrubs which was definitely a nice green alternative. There are more formal gardens such as the one at the Morris-Jumel Mansion further up on the hill but the quirky smaller spaces are just as charming for those exploring the neighborhood.
