SEE: STUDIO MUSEUM AT THE PARK
The Studio Museum in Harlem has collaborated with the Parks Department to come up with some great public artwork and we were able to take a look at one of the installments last week. There are three traditional African kitchen houses set up on the north side of Marcus Garvey Park at 123rd Street just east of Fifth Avenue by artist Simone Leigh which are a striking statement about the African diaspora and how it relates to Harlem. This small village will be open until next summer and should really be interesting to view as the seasons change. More on the exhibition can be found at the Studio Museum site: LINK
