DWELL: PRICE INCREASE AT 17 WEST 120TH
There has been a lot of ups and downs this year for a very notable landmark brownstone at one of the most coveted locations uptown. Number 17 west 120th went on the market this summer for $5 million and had been reduced to $4.4 million two months later but now just had a price jump to $4.7 million. As mentioned previously, this historic home first went on the market late 2014 for the asking of $3.75 million but disappeared rather quickly and then returned for $5 million back in July.
We also noted that this is arguably one of the best blocks in the Mount Morris Park Historic District and Maya Angelou's house just sold for $4 million a few doors down. There are a lot of original details in fantastic condition within the 20-foot-wide townhouse but the one issue here is that this is a multi-unit building. Higher end buyers are usually also looking for a single-family layout but the location might be the biggest selling point here since Whole Foods should be opening nearby in the next 6 months.
