INTRODUCING: CARA LYNCH EXHIBIT AT MORRIS-JUMEL

Opening Reception, Friday, September 21st, 7:00PM-10:00PM, Shattered Dreams and Intimate Treasures: The Work of Cara Lynch at Morris-Jumel Mansion, 65 Jumel Terrace at 161st Street.  Shattered Dreams and Intimate Treasures explores the discarded sentiments and objects that form her sumptuous, glittering and reflective work. The pieces in the exhibition are directly influence by nineteenth century assemblages be it her sculptural references to Sailor’s Valentines or her reflective panels recalling the elaborately plated Venetian mirrors. The promises found on discarded cards and leaflets proclaiming access to the beyond or the fulfillment of dreams and wishes form the inspiration of her reflective pieces that both ask the question to and reflect the image of the viewer through the artifice of acrylic mirrors and beads.  RSVP on the Morris-Jumel website: LINK
