Harlem Bespoke: Heading towards the last few weeks of 2018, HB will be reviewing some of the best Harlem and the Heights has to offer for the year. There has been a slowdown this year in new openings but some establishments did shine with overall concept, design, quality of offerings and service. The best LGBT spot for 2018 is actually just a couple of blocks north of the Harlem border in Washington Heights:
September 2018 was a big month for the uptown LGBT community since Boxers opened up a location at the corner of 159th and Broadway. Boxers had already been a popular spot for uptowners but everyone had to hop on a train to the one in Hell's Kitchen or Chelsea for a night out until the Washington Heights addressed debuted this year. Two-for-one happy hour specials during early evening hours bring in the crowds and those who are more night owls can stay late but have to pay full price for everything. The bar basically becomes a club towards midnight and is not so low-key so show up accordingly based on preference. For more on Boxers, check out our past post: LINK
