REMEMBER: ON THE BOULEVARD CIRCA 1978

Harlem Bespoke:  Photojounalist Manel Armengo visited Harlem back in 1978 and took some incredible photos of the the grittier years of New York City's history.  The above image was taken on a historic boulevard which looks quite different today?  Who can guess the location from the above photos?  There are actually two landmarks that provide a major clue.  An current photo will be posted tomorrow but those who want a preview should go to the Harlem Bespoke twitter account.
This is the current photo of the corner of West 130th Street looking up north on 7th Avnenue. The older photo has the YMCA building visible in the background but a new condo obscures the modern view.  That new condo also is where The Lafayette Theatre used to be located at but the sight was sold and demolished a few years ago.  Those wondering what was on the near corner of 130th Street can see that it was a larger red historic building but now has an abandoned condominium on site: LINK
