EAT: SINGAPORE CURRY NOODLES IN HARLEM

Harlem Bespoke: New Asian restaurants have been arriving in Harlem over the past decade and more variety has been the focus of a newcomer called The Expat on the corner of Tiemann by Claremont Avenue just south of 125th Street. We have had some Vietnamese inspired dishes at the West Harlem eatery in the past but saw recently that Singapore Noodles were on the menu.  What are Singapore Noodles?  We actually were unfamiliar with the dish and had to do some research before trying everything out.  Singapore noodle are evidently a curry-spiced stir fry of shrimp, chicken and vegetables all tossed together with thin rice noodles.   This unexpected combination kind has a mix of Chinese, Vietnamese and Indian flavors but somehow works in an exciting way. Those looking for a more global mix of Asian cuisine should check out The Expat which is now also open for lunch service and definitely put in an order for the Singapore Noodles.  More details on The Expat can be found in our past post: LINK
