Harlem Bespoke: Renovations at the former bodega address at 132nd and Lenox revealed that a new restaurant would arrive and almost a year later it appears that the new establishment will be opening soon in Central Harlem. The actual building went through a restoration all summer long and now has a coat of grey paint replacing the previous white hue but it is the signage out front that has recently caught our eye.
Apparently there is a location on City Island in the Bronx which is doing well but everything appears to be on the more commercial spectrum based on the logo design which appears much like those stereotyping asian culture over 30 years ago. With that said, some diners are not bothered by this but those seeking a less westernized version of Japanese food might consider Michelin star Inoue just a few doors down along with the more accessible Yuzu sushi bar which is also on Lenox. More on Ohana can be found in our past post: LINK
