DWELL: 170 WEST 133RD STREET SOLD IN FEBRUARY

Harlem Bespoke:  One of the homes on Harlem's historic speakeasy street known as Jungle Alley during the Renaissance years went on the market back in October 2018 for $2.188 million, but then was eventually reduced to $1.695 million which attracted a buyer this past January that closed for $1.575 million at the end of February.  Number 170 West 133rd Street is located just east of 7th Avenue and the 2-family townhouse has a front buildout that was probably some sort of commercial establishment or possible speakeasy back in the day.

As previously mentioned, the listing has interior photos which looks like everything needs a bit of an update and there appears to be a tiny amount of original details from a previous renovation over a couple of decades ago or so.  A  moderately renovated, move-in condition brownstone for under $2 million might be one of the better deals to be found uptown so those who do not mind a little elbow grease could possibly make this happen.  Express trains on 135th Street are just a couple of blocks away on Lenox which makes the location convenient for commuters.  More details and photos can be found on Streeteasy: LINK
