ARCHITECTURE: A NEW ST. JAMES METHODIST REVEALED

Harlem Bespoke: The demolition of St.James Methodist Church started back in September 2019 and now it appears a rendering of the one of the new buildigns on site has been revealed. We walked by 45 East 126th Street on Madison Avenue this week and saw that a view of one of the new constructions has been posted up on the plywood.

As can be seen by the design rendering image, there will be a very modern and somewhat brutalist looking 7-story church arriving by this time next year but a residential element has not yet been revealed.  This a large corner lot and the adjacent building appears to be just blank in the rendering.  Call us old fashion, but we prefer the older version especially within a low-rise brownstone block like this intersection of Harlem. More on the church demolition in our past post: LINK
