Harlem Bespoke: Some sad news at the beginning of the week is that Hogshead Tavern on Hamilton Place by 142nd street has decided to permanently close today. The announcement was made on social media just this morning and the shutdown during the pandemic was the major cause of the shuttering.
We have been covering the Irish pub even before they opened in 2014 and many a great times ever since. Classic bloody mary brunches or drag nights on Sundays brighten up a sleepy block in Hamilton Heights for almost seven years and the bar was also one of the first boutique establishments in the neighborhood. Hopefully the city will start up again once more by the end of spring and a time of openings will arrive instead of shuttered doors. With all that said, the beautiful space was renovated quite nicely with factory windows out front and hopefully all can be put to good use in near future.
