Harlem Bespoke: A lot of uptowners were excited this past January when it was announced that
Trader Joe's would be arriving on 125th Street but when will the opening day be? The big issue here is that the wildly popular discount supermarket will be the anchor tenant at
121 West 125th Street which is a new development that has not been built yet. Earlier in the year, the former parking lot building just west of Lenox Avenue was being demolished and construction on the foundation was in full swing by late springtime. We took the above photos this week and noticed that the first floor is starting to rise and that means construction will really be speeding up in the coming months. With all that said, the poster on the plywood makes it clear that if all goes to plan, July 2023 in two year will be the earliest finish date. More on Trader Joe's can be found in our past post:
