RESTORATION: 422-432 LENOX AVENUE TOWNHOUSES

Harlem Bespoke: Restoration for the townhouse facades at 422-432 Lenox Avenue finished up recently and everything looks refreshingly new out front these days.  The original brownstone exterior had been bricked over some time ago and now everything has been combined into one big apartment complex but the feel of the neighborhood is still there.  Even though the stoops have also been removed previously, the preservation of just the cornices up top all these years have prevented the building from looking like a bland box with windows.  Check out our past post for another 1940s photo of what this location by West 131st Street used to look like back in the day: LINK
