THE WITCH'S HAT ROOF AT MOUNT MORRIS PARK WEST
Harlem Bespoke: Conical turret roof's that are sometimes called witch's hats used to be a major architectural details around uptown but most have them have since been removed. We found an old photo from the city archives which reveals that Number 11 Mount Morris Park West at the corner of West 121st Street used to have one of the dramatic structures. Evidently there were also quite a few pointed spires on the adjacent home which were quite magical at one point in time but those architectural elements are the first to go if a historic home is not maintained to traditional standards over the decades. For more on what's up with 11 Mount Morris Park West, check out our post form last year: LINK
