RESTORATION: 726 ST. NICHOLAS AVENUE

Harlem Bespoke: What is going on with the landmark limestone townhouse at 726 St. Nicholas Avenue located between 146th and 147th Street? We walked by the the historic Sugar Hill block this week and noticed some major construction and initially thought there might have been a fire.  Or could this just be some emergency restoration work? DOB files online do mention that the stone veneer needed to be replaced but this was over a decade ago. The wood framing for the walls look really burnt or rotten so some immediate repairs are definitely needed here. The exposed top floors are also completely gutted to the rafter from what we saw and this home will really require a lot of work on site in the coming months.
