CONSTRUCTION: NEW STUDIO MUSEUM RISES ON 125TH

Harlem Bespoke: The 125th Street Studio Museum started the demolition of the former building back in 2019 and was completed in 2020 but the construction site did not appear to have a lot of action until recently. Below ground foundation work takes a long time to finish up initially but now the floors are starting to rise as of late.
We took the above photos over the weekend and the back section of the new building designed by architect David Adjaye can be seen on the development site at 125th Street by Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard.  A rendering of the distinct architecture can be seen on the plywood out front and the signage also states that Winter 2022 will be the complete date.  This deadline was set probably before the pandemic happened so there will definitely be a delay of several months or a year.  More on the new Studio Museum building can be found in our past post: LINK
