RENAISSANCE CLUB DOCUMENTARIES AT MAYSLES

Harlem Bespoke: Home to Harlem presents Harlem through an archival lens as both an actual home for Black citizens and families… and as a location in the popular imagination of African Americans, by exploring the various intersections of documentary, amateur films, home movies, musical shorts, nontheatrical materials, family archives and the preservation of cultural artifacts in Harlem.

Thursday, June 30th, 7:30PM-9:00PM, Home to Harlem: A Night of Hi-De-Ho Cab, in-theater screening at Maysles Cinema, 343 Lenox Avenue by West 127th Street.  A compilation of black and white 16mm home movies filmed from between 1932 and 1936 featuring nightclub footage from the Harlem Renaissance years.  More details on the free cinema event can be found at the Maysles Cinema site: LINK
