FIRST LOOK AT SOJOURNER COFFEE ON 116TH STREET

Harelm Bespoke: We finally got to take some photos of the new Sojourner coffee shop on West 116th this week and got to catch up with one of the owners. Many might remember that this was the former Shuteye coffee address between Lenox and Adam Clayton Powell that closed back in 2020 which left a big java void in the neighborhood for some time.

Harlem Bespoke:  We received a tip that the former Shuteye coffee space that has been vacant since October 2020 will have a new business arriving soon.  The storefront on 116th between Adam Clayton and Lenox had a loyal following but the pandemic really hit hard for a lot of small businesses.

Saturday, September 18th, Drag Brunch at Silvana on West 116th Street by Frederick Douglass Boulevard, first seating at Noon and second show at 3:00PM.  Drag has been a tradition in Harlem that goes back over a century and the sister establishment to Shrine will be hosting a drag brunch event for September.  Regular pre-fix plus drink at $25 or brunch with unlimited drinks for $50 a person.  RSVP by text at 646.874.6379 to reserve a spot.  Nightly performances have now resumed and a full schedule can be found online:  LINK

REOPENING: LIVE MUSIC AT SILVANA

Harlem Bespoke:   We love Silvana on West 116th Street by Frederick Douglass Boulevard during the daytime for the best Middle Eastern cuisine to be found uptown but the sister establishment to Shrine also has live music at the lower level.  The music scene in the past year took a hit because of the pandemic but now things are starting to get back to normal but we do suggest to still use social distancing protocols when possible.  Nightly performances have now resumed and a full schedule can be found online:  LINK
