FIRST LOOK AT SOJOURNER COFFEE ON 116TH STREET

Harelm Bespoke: We finally got to take some photos of the new Sojourner coffee shop on West 116th this week and got to catch up with one of the owners. Many might remember that this was the former Shuteye coffee address between Lenox and Adam Clayton Powell that closed back in 2020 which left a big java void in the neighborhood for some time. A morning rush was coming in right after the above photos were taken and we ran into some familiar faces! The brew here is exceptionally fresh because everthing is straight from Plowshares in Manhattanville which is Harlem's local roaster that ships out to many locations in the city. Pastries from a local bakery also can be found up front and there is actually around a dozen seat positions at the more spacious layout to enjoy a cup when stopping by.  The vast majority of the new small coffee shops that are now uptown are POC owned small businesses so make sure to get a daily fix at this new arrival and show some local love.  More on Sojourner can be found in our past post: LINK
