☞ SEE: The 125th Street Ferry Station
This postcard from a hand-colored black and white photo provides a glimpse into the past and is also a piece of artwork in itself. We just took the trip from the Victorian style ferry station to Governor's Island this past weekend, and this postcard is a great reminder of the type of service once available to Harlem for traveling on the Hudson. Notably, this is roughly the location of today's West Harlem Piers, and the ferry station's old position on the pier has not been built over. Maybe one day this type of mass transportation will return uptown. See previous post for more detail on the 125th Street Ferry: LINK
