☞ DWELL: 99 Hamilton Place Townhouse
The single family, yellow brick townhouse at 99 Hamilton Place and 141st Street (far right) has been on the market for over a year now so we actually are wondering what's wrong with it. The 19 foot wide, 3,570 square foot building looks to be in decent shape and there appears to be just enough details on the interior to make it interesting. The minuses might be that it is on an avenue location that might get noisy during certain times of the day and that the 1 train at 137th Street or the express A,B,C,D at 145th Street is a good 5-10 minute walk to get to. The current asking price is $1.29 million so it might need a bit of a chop after being on the market as long as it has. Did anyone check this one out? House photo by Ulysses

There is a big SRO on that corner, and the people that live there think the entire block is their backyard. During the summer, they haul out huge charcoal grills and BBQ, literally all day. It's insane. If someone buys this, they'll chop it up into apartments, but for a single family? Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI agree, neighborhood can get quite noisy. people just standing around all day, idly. Drug dealers abound in this area too. Who would drop a mil, there? I wouldn't.
ReplyDeleteAll that may be true but this house is really lovely on the inside. While not as lavish as some bigger houses, it's definitely the most tasteful brownstone renovation I've seen.
