☞ REMEMBER: 5th Avenue & 129th circa 1932

Upper Fifth Avenue has some grand architecture from the early part of 20th century and the archival image from 1932 shows one notable block at 129th Street.  Brownstones line the east side of the avenue and two larger mansard-roofed houses can be seen at the south corner.  Over the decades, it appears that someone did take notice of these lovely buildings and the lower photo shows that this corner of the Central and East Harlem border still retains its architectural charms today.  Archival image courtesy of NYPL
