☞ REMEMBER: West 123rd Street circa 1932

An old image of West 123rd Street between Lenox and ACP/7th Avenue shows what the block originally looked like back in 1932.  Most of the housing stock has been preserved today at this section which is adjacent to the Mount Morris Park Historic District but the frame houses with the mansard roofs at No. 123-117 did not do so well. Nowadays a brand new condo construction has risen on the block which provides a striking contrast between new and old: LINK.  Archival research photo courtesy of  NYPL

  1. Any idea what happened to the old mansard houses? Pity they're gone.
