☞ REVIVE: Central Harlem Reno Stairwell
We have not posted the last of the Central Harlem renovation house images in some time but the above shots are of the restored stairwell being installed earlier this year. Original details such as the cast metal newel post were removed and stripped of paint while the worn treads were replaced with new ones. Everything was ripped out at one point in time since the whole set of steps needed work on many levels. The balustrades were also stripped and replicated where needed. We will try to get final photos up in the near future but check out these original detail images from when the house just started its reno process: LINK

Construction photos of the stair removal and replacement would be interesting.
