Korean Street Festival, West 134th Street between 7th and 8th Avenue. Harlem has some pretty diverse public schools in the charter world including ones that focus on
French or
Hebrew but Democracy Prep provides another unique global view since the specialization is teaching Korean culture. Students learn Korean language, writing, arts, theatre, dance and must be fluent to graduate. This weekend, the school will have their annual festival in Harlem open to the public which will feature free Korean food, games, face painting, photo booths, and a performance stage with students performing traditional Korean songs and dance.
