EAT: KOREAN BARBECUE IN HARLEM
Harlem Bespoke: Is it possible to get decent Korean food in Harlem? Japanese cuisine has been the biggest Asian trend to be found uptown over the years so those looking for Korean food tend to have to go to The Mill further south in Morningside Heights. We have been frequenting some of our old favorite spots in the past month and it turns out that Il Caffe Latte on Lenox and up in Hamilton Heights has come up with a great update on the Korean barbecue beef lettuce wrap. Most in the neighborhood know that the owner of the popular local spot is Korean but has focused on affordable American and Italian cuisine in the past. With that said, the new Bulgogi wraps are some of the most robust we have ever tried and is the closest thing to Korean comfort food that we have tasted in quite a long time. The above photo can not convey how much food one gets in the three tacos so those who are looking for an updated version of Korean barbecue should try out either locations in Harlem for lunch or dinner service.
