Harlem Bespoke: Developers have been tearing down old building for the land to sell on the east side of 125th Street in the past couple of decades and some of the sites stay inactive for some time. Two huge lots the south side of East 125th Street at Park Avenue are now in this predicament but local artists have banded together to beautify the plywood surrounding each lot.
We especially like the colorful African patterns across from the Corn Exchange Building because of the pure graphic quality and the other works get a bit more personal with shapes or forms. It might be another decade until something actually gets built on these lots so art is really all we have at this point to anchor the neighborhood. With that said one, one of these corner lots will be the last stop on the 2nd Avenue subway line extension which will become a crucial hub to the east side: LINK
