INTRODUCING: NEW IN HAMILTON HEIGHTS FOR 2022

Harlem Bespoke:  Charles Pan-Fried Chicken returning to West Harlem might have been the biggest news in the neighborhood this year so far but quite a few businesses have opened in Hamilton Heights during the pandemic.  All have opened during the most difficult of times in the past couple of years and are doing well but one is currently shuttered to refigure their schedule for the season.

Sugar Hill Creamery opened in October 2020 their second location on Broadway by 150th Street.  Harlem's favorite artisanal ice cream shop custom makes each flavor everyday and is also our favorite spot to get ice cream sandwiches:  LINK

Oma Coffee and Home on Amsterdam by 144th Street has a boutique coffee shop ambiance that you can also shop in.  This intimate cafe which just opened in December also curates discerning home goods such as ceramic pieces, candles and scents to peruse while enjoying the daily brew: LINK

Avrilililly's on Amsterdam and west 139th Street is uptown's newest cafe which just opened in February that also features quirky gelato offerings of the day and the most beautifully decorated cupcakes.  Definitely worth checking out as the weather warms up: LINK

The Cloak Room on Hamilton Place by 143rd Street took over the former Hogshead Tavern space back in September 2021 and now is a glamorous speakeasy with live jazz on the weekends: LINK

Oh Craft! on Amsterdam just north of 146th Street opened during the summer of 2020 and offers up a rotating list of craft beer that is really in demand these days.  Same owners as the popular Sugar Hill Cafe nearby so expect the same quality and service: LINK

Hamilton Hall on Broadway by 143rd Street opened in October 2020 and provides elevated pub grub along with specialty cocktails and craft beer: LINK

Casa D'La Pasta on Amsterdam and 148th Street opened recently at the former Barepas space and is a new spot to get pasta dishes uptown: LINK

Charles Pan-Fried Chicken returned to Harlem on 145th Street and the corner of Edgemcombe in March and the rest is NYC culinary history.  Huge lines formed around the block on opening day but things are much more manageable these days for hungry diners.  More in our past post: LINK

Beer Run on Broadway and 148th Street offers up more craft beer to the neighborhood!  The new casual spot opened towards the end of 2021 and is the second location in the city: LINK

The Chick Inn on Broadway by West 143rd Street debuted in late December 2020 at the former Anchor Wine Bar address and offers up fancy rotisserie chicken & wings in a very stylized interior: LINK

The Porch, right by the subway entrance on St. Nicholas Avenue by 147th Street had a soft opening in the past few months but has since temporarily closed.  Expect coffee and small bites along with live concerts at this Sugar Hill venue: LINK
