Harlem Bespoke: We have written quite a few posts on the forgotten Pabst's Harlem beer hall over the years but could never quite get a good image of the 125th Street entrance until now. An old postcard from 1905 had a colorized snapshot showing a side view on the boulevard with the sign peeping out just east of 8th Avenue but not much else. Archival municipal photos from the 1940s show that a Kress 25 Cent store opened up after the Prohibition years but all of the architectural details out front are still intact. This would all be removed by the 1950s and a more minimalist frontage now stands at street level. As many may know by now, the back entrance on 124th Street still has a lot of drama since the original dome in still intact. Check out our past post to see what both frontages look like today: LINK
