Harlem Bespoke: It has taken decades to happen but the full restoration of the Victoria Theatre on 125th Street by Adam Clayton Powell has finally hit another milestone with the restoration of the historic vertical marquee. We snapped the above photo around noon today when the workers on site were just finishing up the final touches and thought it was all a dream. As most know by now, this is all part of a new hotel that is set to open probably next year and the theater itself will have community space as part of the mix. We actually love that the north side of 125th Street now has two vertical marquees in view when looking westward which is a sight that had been missing on the main boulevard for decades. For an older photo of Victoria from the 1950s with views of the Apollo, check out our past post: LINK
