INTRODUCING: BILLBOARDS BY WHOLE FOODS

Harlem Bespoke: The wall of 5 billboards right in front of Whole Foods on Lenox at the corner of 125th Street appears to be the new way that the city is trying to advertise to the public.  Most pedestrians seem to walk by without taking too much notice but the graphics are indeed eye-catching and the linear layout strikes a modern cord.  We definitely like the new look along with the modern bus kiosk but messing with the subway entrances is another story: LINK

SHOP: FARA CHANGES TO LENOX SAPHIRE

The corner eatery that everyone assumed was an extension of Les Ambassades at Lenox and 127th has changed names once again. Back in December, a new sign announcing the arrival of Fara was revealed but now it looks like the establishment will be called Lenox Saphire.  As many might remember, the last time any new business tried to use Lenox as part of their name, the owner of Lenox Lounge had sued them to change their moniker.  With that said,  Lenox Lounge is still out of commission these days and we expect Lenox Sapphire to open by Summer at this rate.  Check out our past post to see which new business had to change their name when they first opened on Lenox and 126th a couple of years ago: LINK

☞ INTRODUCING: More Umbrellas on Lenox

Boulevard Bistro set up their umbrellas over the patio this weekend and the new eatery on 122nd Street is now one of many to do so in Harlem.  Just 5 years back, this sort of dining arrangement was just starting to happen in Central Harlem but the likes of The Red Rooster, Chez Lucienne, Corner Social Social, Sylvia's, Native and Settepani have all changed the look of Lenox Avenue's grand sidewalks. In  the near future, folks should also expect Barawine, Harlem Shake and that new yogurt shop to be adding even more seating on to the avenue. Then there is the former Lenox Lounge space and the bakery next door which we expect to also join in this popular uptown trend.
