DWELL: RECORD CONTRACTS IN HAMILTON HEIGHTS

Will a townhouse in Hamilton Heights sell at the $3 million mark?  That question might be answered in the next couple of months when 3 contracts go through that will be close to this amount.  A previous record holder for West Harlem was set a year ago when No. 529 West 142nd Street sold for $2.625 million.  Currently contracts are out at 52 Hamilton Terrace for $ 2.85 million, 50 Hamilton Terrace at $2.895 million and 461 West 143rd Street for $3.1 million.  In the past year or so, the asking prices have indicated a similar sales price so maybe West 143rd Street will be the record holder for the heights in 2014.   These West Harlem homes also tend to be more intact with original details and layouts than the ones found in Central Harlem so higher-end buyers are starting to take notice apparently.
