EAT: A GREAT PIZZA IN HARLEM 2019

Harlem Bespoke:  Probably one of the most underrated things to be known about Harlem these days is that there are some really amazing pizza spots to be found uptown.  Specialty wood or brick oven stoves are the norm and the pies have the perfect char-to-chew ratio that can not be found in any old takeout spot.  Below are some of the artisanal pizza eateries to check out in greater Harlem:

Harlem Pizza Company, 135 West 116th Street between ACP and Lenox. A local sensation which has been around since 2014: LINK

The Draft House, 3473 Broadway by West 142nd Street.  This West Harlem bar that opened in 2015 actually has a brick oven which serves up surprisingly good pizza: LINK

Babbalucci,  331 Lenox Avenue by 126th Street. Central Harlem's main pie purveyor since 2015 also serves up some interesting offerings: LINK

Bono Trattoria, 3658 Broadway by 151st Street.  The first craft pizza spot to open on the west side back in 2015 was selected our as one of the Bespoke Best of the Year: LINK

Sottocasa, 227 Lenox by 121st Street. The Mount Morris Park favorite opened back in 2016 and was packed on our last visit this last Sunday.  More in our past post: LINK

Fumo, 1600 Amsterdam Avenue by 139th Street.  Hamilton Heights' go-to for wood oven pizza has been around since 2016: LINK

Uncle Tony's, 1596 Amsterdam by 139th Street.  Fumo's sister takeout spot next door is the best casual pizza destination on the west side: LINK
